Story of Kiilto

In 1919, there was a shortage of almost everything in Finland. But there were many resourceful people. When goods could not be imported, companies were established to manufacture them. This is how the company we call Kiilto was born. In the 1910s, there was no hair or mouthwash available in pharmacies, shoe factories had run out of paints, polishes, waxes and glues, furniture factories needed lacquers and polishes on the spirit base. The name Kiilto (Finnish for gloss) refers to the products the company made in those early days.
